Resolutions

i'm still not used to being back in singapore. strange but yeah, i was really starting to adapt into the awesome californian weather and surrounding.

can't seem to fall asleep since i just took a 5-hour nap at home when my family wasn't around so now i have to suffer another night of jet lag.

why not make some resolutions to abide by in the new year?

1. lose weight: this is my top priority because i have been slacking off so much in maintaining my weight ever since i graduated from secondary school. i really hope i can do a sport or even attempt to jog every 2 days since i'm not in school or working at the moment.

2. score the very best in school: i'm afraid that i'll score mediocre grades when i attend university at sim-rmit. my wish was to study in america but since i can't do it as an undergraduate, i have to do my master's there instead.

3. read books: i've been such a bookworm when i was younger. i guess technology made our attention spans so horrendous that i tend to yawn after reading one page. i hate that and i want to change it before i turn 22. wanted to get a amazon kindle in support of reading books but apparently, it's not catered to countries like singapore...yet.

4. driving: being in america has opened my eyes about this issue. i was very annoyed with the fact that i /needed/ a car to travel to the places that i wanted to go. i guess i need to get my license so i can avoid being annoyed the next time i'm there.

think that's all for now :)

America

been here for almost two weeks now. guess my american college education wasn't meant to be, haha. surprisingly i don't particularly hold any kind of resentment at factors that might attribute to it. basically the plan now is to enroll into sim-rmit's marketing course this coming july since the entire course is for a period of two years as compared to me studying in arizona for another 4 years.

as i reflect back, i have come to realize that i don't hold the same enthusiasm as i did when i came to the country back in '04. i clearly remember i was very gleeful at the thought of studying in an american high school because the media made it happening and fun. 7 years later, my mentality did move onto a different direction.

i think it has been a good experience coming down to america, seeing more of california and making a virgin trip to a new state. tucson is a lovely place but probably not as happening like phoenix i suppose. my love for the country might not be as deep as before but there's a new feeling of wanting to explore life here because it is definitely different here. the air, the people, the environment, the shopping and so on.

my priority now is to complete those two years and see where life takes me next.

just made a booking for a flight back to singapore on the 11th. i can't wait to get home and see the people who matter to me. it's a familiar environment but i'll probably come back as a different person despite being on the other side of the world for a short period of time.
